The Blessed Sacrament

Just as we talk about the presence of the Lord as the most important part of the faith here at St Mary's, so we give pride of place and honour to his actual presence among us in the Blessed Sacrament.

When you come into St Mary's, you will see right at the opposite end of church:

These two signs tell us that the Blessed Sacrament is reserved: we genuflect (that is, touch our right knee to the floor) and in doing so recognize that we are in the presence of Jesus.

We are both showing respect, but also acknowledging that we are not the most important person in church.  This humility is important!
